What's pennant?

Pennant is a weekly team-based squash competition played against other Melbourne-based squash clubs. Each pennant league will run over a few seasons each year. Teams are formed of players of similar skill level and placed within a grade of similarly-graded players. Each week teams compete either at home or away with results of each match determining the team's score overall score for the night. Teams will have more players than is required and the team captain will rotate players each week. Each season has an online team ladder where teams compete for entry into the finals. At the end of the season, the top teams play in 2-3 weeks of finals rounds vying for the Premiership or Runner-up pennant flag. Besides winning prizes, pennant flag recipients have their names displayed on their team's flag at the squash courts on the Wall of Glory for all to behold.
