Varsity Surfing offers you the chance to represent Monash University in competitions against other universities at local, national, and occasionally international levels. 

Each year, our teams take part in a variety of events such as the Big Blue Varsity Challenge and UniSport Nationals. Join your fellow Monash athletes, enhance your university experience, and be part of something truly special!

Eligibility

All Monash students are invited to try out for a Monash Varsity Sport team. Trials typically take place between February and June, depending on the sport and event.

All Varsity athletes must be enrolled in at least one unit at Monash in the year of competing.

2026 Varsity Events

UniSport Surfing National Championships:

28th - 30th July

Sunshine Coast, QLD

Both men's, women's and a mixed team's competition. Shortboard and Longboard competitions will also be offered.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the 2026 Varsity Surfing program are now closed.

Thank you to everyone who submitted an EOI for the 2026 season. Teams have now been selected, and preparations are underway for the upcoming season.
